DuraTile: Patented Porcelain Tile Floating Floor System
DuraTile® is a new way of thinking, designing and installing flooring.

- Tiles are encapsulated by a high-technology pad that is both pleasant to touch and to look at
- Once tiles are laid the natural compression makes the pads pours dialate producing a suction to the surface, also as the tiles edges are nested against each other they form the same suction which also creates a semi-watertight barrier between the tiles plus protecting the edges of the adjacent tiles
- The system allows the new flooring to be placed over the old without use of glue or cement
- Can be installed by most anyone, easy and quick installation lowering labor costs
- Most any floor surface that is tile-ready is also ready for DuraTile® Some surfaces could require a underlayment, but not always required
- No change or damage to existing flooring with minimal increase in thickness
- Lay Flat and Floating floors are common in many less desirable and durable types of flooring
- Floating over cracked or badly constructed substrates subject to movement
- Not damaged by floods or other events which can cause permanent damage to flooring
- Possibility of quick removal and replacement has large advantages in many applications
- Ideal for temporary flooring like kiosks, tradeshows and pop-up shops
- Great for areas of retail stores requiring quick flooring replacement done overnight
- Minimum disruption is caused in the installation process
- Seasonal flooring or product launch specific flooring for retail stores or showrooms
- Any area of the floor can be removed and replaced within minimum effort
- Many types of architectural and interior applications are possible
- Great for multi-story buildings where sound and noise are of concern both during construction and ongoing
- Ideal for both new construction and remodel projects
- Very thin joints that virtually disappear, the tile is all that is visible
- Imperceptible that it’s not a traditional laid tile flooring product
- Possible to change all or part of the floor layout to accommodate future needs or requirements
- Infinite combinations of tile sizes are possible
- Can be applied to hundreds of tile sizes, styles and brands
- Many products in 1, Porcelain tile durability coupled with its many advantages
- Insulation properties of DuraTile will not contribute to loss of energy or remove heat like traditional hard set tile flooring, “its in the touch”
- Softer under foot than traditional hard set flooring
- Less sound transfer to floors below
- Fastest installation of any type of flooring with lay-flat process
- 1000’s of Square Feet can be installed by 1 crew
- Zero tear out required of old hard surface flooring
- Floors can be walked upon as soon as installed, No access restrictions in most cases
- Excellent adhesion, The matting provides excellent grip to surfaces thanks to its properties
- Separate underlayment is available to help overcome some substrate issues
- Anti-seismic, Structurally independent and won’t fracture with substrate movement
- Minimum closure time for retail stores or other high traffic applications
- Broken or cracked tiles can be replaced in seconds without need for any trades
- No costs of adhesive or grout, No expensive trades required to install
- Heavy-duty enough to support most traffic, even automotive traffic
- Since no installation products are required DuraTile is the most sustainable and environmentally conscious type of hard surface flooring
- No VOC’s or corrosive products are used to install DuraTile

Approved Areas of Use and Expected Performance
With use of high quality porcelain tiles the DuraTile® system will deliver long lasting, easy to maintain tile floors that also possess additional benefits of the fully encapsulated DuraTile® system. Encapsulated tiles will not break due to non structural slab movement, they feel softer under foot and warmer than hard set tile floors, DuraTile® floors transfer less sound to below living spaces. DuraTile® is easy to install and care for. The floor will not deplete the room of precious energy like traditional hard set floors, matting helps insulate and therefore reduce costs.
A very forgiving system, if a installation error or a event takes place (such as flooding) that would require removal of the tiles, this can be done easily and tiles can later be replaced once the issue has been corrected.
DuraTile® is suitable for residential or light commercial installations on standard thickness tiles. Defined as areas where the system is subject to foot traffic or light pneumatic wheeled carts. No hard metal or plastic and or solid wheel carts, no heavy point loads exceeding the tiles expected breaking strength requirements. DuraTile® system is not suitable for forklift, pallet jacks, or wheeled traffic of heavy loads or other areas whereby the tiles will be subject to extra heavy point-load requirements. Never exceed load requirements specified by manufacturer of tiles.
Tile Specifications:
Tiles must be of the highest quality impervious porcelain body, less than .5% absorption tested under ASTM test methods. Tiles must be a thickness of 10-12 mm or greater. No deviation in thickness within the tile is acceptable, Tiles must be flat in all aspects, across the face and edges with no wedging or warpage. All tiles must be first quality under ANSI A137.1-1998.
All edges must be rectified to provide strait 90 degree edges and a single calibration per lot size.
Installation instructions:
Floors must be clean and free of all debris. Any floor suitable for a standard thinset application of tile are acceptable with the following additional restrictions: Floors must be flat and not have deflection greater than 1/8” in 10 feet. There must be no transitional heights or structural defects to be bridged which would allow upward or other unstable movement under the tiles. Tiles must be tight fit within the field of tiles and at all edges to restrict movement. Use of high quality silicone sealant at perimeter edges. Use metal or other suitable tile edging materials at all transitions. Bond transitions to the floor to hold tiles firm on their edges, Bond with double stick carpet tape or epoxy bond transition strips.
Cutting: Use of scoring tools or a wet saw can be used. Cut as you would cut tiles in any method normal to your installation practices.
Care and Maintenance:
Mop tiles with light mopping, do not flood surface. If flooding has taken place, and water or cleaner removal is desired pick-up tiles with suction cup tool, clean or dry then reset. If heavy cleaning is required to remove contaminants from below the surface of the tiles, pick-up those affected tiles, clean and replace. For care of the specific tiles, please follow the manufacturers recommended instructions.
