The Tile Doctor is bringing new Litokol detergent and surface treatment products to its customers. One of the company’s newest products, Litogrip Floor, is a water-based non-slip treatment for silica-based materials. This product reacts with the surface, to create micro escape routes for water, facilitating drainage and increasing surface friction. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use on all silica-based materials, including stone, ceramics, granite, quartz, ceramic mosaics, etc. This high-quality product provides surface treatment designed to promote a non-slip surface.
Given the vast range of materials on which it can be necessary to apply a non-slip treatment and the differences in composition, resistance, and surface hardness, it is important to perform a preliminary test* for the purpose of identifying the most suitable period of contact between the surface and Litogrip Floor. This will ensure you get the best results in terms of high non-slip performance without altering the original look of the substrate. The test should be performed prior to the application of the treatment on the entire surface, on a sample of non-laid material or in a non-visible section.
The most effective contact periods are between 10 and 40 minutes for ceramics and stone, between 30 and 60 minutes for Klinker and quartz agglomerates, and between 60 and 90 minutes for granite. The product is easy to apply. Simply apply a good quantity of pure product onto the surface using a brush, roller, airless sprayer, or fleece. Leave the product to react for as long as needed, from approximately 15 to 60 minutes, before soaking up the product. During this time, keep the surface on which the product has been applied consistently and evenly wet. After removing the excess product, all you need to do is rinse it well with water to remove any residue before you test the final result. It’s important to remember the slip test should be performed on a wet surface.
