MARBLE COUNTERTOP OWNERS – THIS IS YOUR WAKE-UP CALL
If you’ve invested in marble, you already know one thing…
It’s stunning.
It’s timeless.
And it’s vulnerable.
Etching. Staining. Oil absorption. Water marks.
Without protection, marble countertops can age fast – and not in a good way.

Today I’m breaking down how to properly protect marble countertops using Faber AS 930 CP and Faber CP 5 so you can preserve the beauty AND increase the lifespan of your stone countertop.
WHY MARBLE NEEDS PROTECTION
Marble is a calcium-based natural stone. That means:
- It’s porous
- It absorbs liquids
- It reacts with acids
- It can stain from oils and food
Kitchen environments are high-risk zones – coffee, wine, lemon juice, olive oil, tomato sauce. One spill can leave permanent damage.
Marble countertop rotection isn’t optional. It’s essential.
WHAT IS FABER AS 930 CP?
Faber AS 930 CP is a professional-grade impregnating sealer designed specifically for natural stone surfaces, including marble countertops.
It penetrates deep into the stone structure, creating an invisible barrier that:
- Reduces liquid absorption
- Repels oil and water-based stains
- Maintains natural appearance
- Preserves breathability
- Extends surface life
It does not create a surface film. It works from within. That’s critical for marble.
HOW TO APPLY FABER AS 930 CP PROPERLY
If you want professional results, application discipline matters.
Step 1 – Surface Preparation
The marble must be:
- Clean
- Dry
- Free of waxes or coatings
- Free of residue
If the surface has previous treatments, they must be removed.
Step 2 – Even Application
Apply Faber AS 930 CP evenly using:
- Soft cloth
- Lambswool applicator
- Microfiber pad
Allow the product to penetrate thoroughly.
Step 3 – Remove Excess
After penetration time, remove all surface residue completely.
Do NOT let excess dry on the surface.
Step 4 – Cure Time
Allow proper curing before exposing the surface to water or heavy use.
Patience = performance.
WHERE CP 5 FITS INTO THE SYSTEM
Faber CP 5 enhances stain protection in higher-risk environments. When used properly as part of a protection strategy, it boosts FABER AS 930’sresistance to oil and other heavy-use contaminants. This is especially important for kitchen islands and food prep zones.
The result? Stronger, longer-lasting defense against daily wear.
HOW TO APPLY CP 5 PROPERLY AFTER FABER AS 930 CP
- AS 930 CP must cure completely before applying CP 5.
- Do not apply CP 5 on wet surfaces.
- Do not apply CP 5 on heated surfaces.
- Spray the product on the surface and distribute it evenly using a non-woven fabric cloth or a microfiber cloth.
- Wait for CP 5 to dry. The product dries within 1 hour.
- Remove extra residues and buff the surface using the same cloth used for the application.
- Resume surface use 3 hours after the application.

SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH PROTECTION
Here’s something most people don’t talk about.
Protecting marble isn’t just about aesthetics – it’s about sustainability.
When countertops stain beyond repair, they get:
- Refinished
- Replaced
- Torn out
That creates waste, transportation impact, and unnecessary material consumption.
Proper sealing:
- Extends lifespan
- Reduces refinishing cycles
- Minimizes chemical stripping
- Prevents premature replacement
Longevity is sustainable.
WHO SHOULD BE USING THIS SYSTEM?
- Homeowners with marble kitchens
- Designers specifying high-end natural stone
- Fabricators delivering premium installations
- Restoration professionals
If marble is involved – protection is mandatory.
